About

Meet Jane

A non-for-profit and disability leader for over 8 years, I am a Disability Policy consultant, working with for-purpose and NFP organisations to deliver high-level policy consultation work.

I am passionate about changing the trajectory for protecting rights for people with disability. I write and public speak on local, state and national media, and social platforms, blending my professional expertise, with direct lived experience of deafblindness.

Throughout my policy work, I have contributed to the NDIS Review, Disability Royal Commission, Aged Care Royal Commission, Senate inquiries, federal and state consultations on a broad range of issues, including the NDIS, National Disability Strategy, state Disability Plans, transport, education, employment, banking, housing, community access, civic participation, and emergency response/planning.

I’m not only about policy though – I believe disability leadership and representation belongs in every area in society. My work has ranged from speaking about leadership to an audience of 2,000 for the 2023 Future Women Leadership Summit – a true career highlight – to advising and delivering training about disability inclusion in workplace management and governance.

I have recently launched a national campaign Braille Trail Campaign to build community awareness about braille trails – tactile markers in streets – which exist to assist people who are blind or vision impaired to navigate public areas. The campaign launched in February 2024 with an address to Brisbane City Council about the braille trails frequently being blocked.

After a wildly successful social media campaign was launched in Brisbane with over half a million views in the first 24 hours, I decided to the campaign need to extend nationally. I am currently collaborating with Ministerial, Lord Mayor and Council officers, right around Australia, to replicate this public awareness campaign.

In this same spirit, I am open to collaborating with you to explore how we can bring accessibility and inclusion to all areas of life.

Outside work, I am a classical piano graduate from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. When I’m not seated at the piano, you can find me out for coffee, watching a performance in the arts scene, or perhaps stealing a quiet moment in nature.

I have a beloved Golden Retriever, Pippa, the Personal Assistant of Office Jane and secret to my business success.
